‘My Man Godfrey’ (1936)

Starring William Powell and Carole Lombard. There don’t seem to be any specific clips on YouTube, but someone has posted the whole movie in 9 parts. (It’s in the public domain.)

Carole Lombard is delightful in the role of scatterbrained Irene Bullock. It’s a shame she died so young (at the age of 33 in a plane crash in 1942).

A bit of trivia: William Powell and Carole Lombard were married to each other, but had divorced in 1933 after 3 years of marriage. When Powell was offered the role of Godfrey, he insisted that the only one suitable for the role of Irene was Lombard.

Claude Rains in “The Invisible Man” (1933)

Great special effects for its time. And Claude Rains was excellent in the title role, even though you didn’t actually see much of him. haha
